Lehnen was the top prospect to come out of South Dakota. Prior to pitching for Augustana, he spent two seasons at the University of Cincinnati, making 13 starts in 16 games as a freshman. In his second season at Cincinnati, he appeared in just eight games, making one start, and pitching nine innings.
With Augustana, he went 3-3 with a 2.60 ERA over 52 innings and striking out 61 batters. He owns a fastball that sits in the low-90s but has topped out at 96 miles per hour. Long-term though, scouts believe he will end up in the bullpen but to start his career he will likely be in the starting rotation. He will need to work on his control to stick as a starter and develop robust secondary offerings.
