    Yankees MiLB Spring Training Day 6 Notes

    • Abiatal Avelino took a pitch off the forearm that bounced back and hit him in the face. After being evaluated by the trainer he remained in the game for the RiverDogs.
    • Freicer Perez got the start for the Tarpons, he allowed two runs on three hits in 3 2/3 innings of work. He struck out just two batters and walked three, throwing a total of 64 pitchers (36 strikes).
    • The Tarpons struggled against Kyle Funkhouser, striking out four times in three innings against the Tigers #6 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
    • Miguel Flames had the lone hit against Funkhouser for Tampa
    • Tino Martinez was in camp working with the Yankees minor leaguers. Tino is currently a special assistant for the Yankees.
