Yankees MiLB Preview: Saturday, July 6, 2019





Daniel Camarena will make his 11th start of the season for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and his 3rd against Rochester. He last pitched on July 1st against Pawtucket where he earned a win after going 7.0 innings while surrendering only 2 hits and no runs in a quality start. The RailRiders are coming off of a doubleheader split on Friday where they lost game one 4-2 and won game two 7-6.

As a staff, RailRiders pitcher has allowed the third-fewest home runs in the International League trailing Indianapolis and Gwinnett.

 

Nick Green will be making his 4th start of the season for Trenton and his first against Hartford. In his previous outing on 6/30 against New Hampshire, Green logged a quality start after going 6.0 innings allowing 2 earned runs on 5 hits. The Thunder are coming off a 7-5 loss against Hartford on Friday.

As a team the Thunder have allowed the 2nd fewest hits in the Eastern League with 613 although they have the fewest combined innings with 706 1/3. In the home runs allowed category they only trail Portland by one with 46.

 
 

Miguel Yajure will make his 13th start for Tampa and his 3rd against Clearwater where he won his first start and lost his second. In his last outing on 6/30 against Florida, he logged a quality start going 7 1/3 innings allowing an unearned run on 5 hits. Tampa is coming off of a loss on Friday.

As a team, Tampa pitchers have the third most strikeouts in the Florida State League with 733. Clearwater is currently leading in that category with 814.

 

 

Alexander Vizcaino will be making his 14th start of the season for Charleston and his 2nd against Greenville. He last faced the Drive on May 4th where he took the loss. He last pitched on 6/30 against Ashville, taking another loss allowing 4 runs in 5.0 innings. The RiverDogs are coming off of a loss on Friday.

RiverDogs pitchers have allowed the second-fewest home runs in the South Atlantic League with 44 where Greenville pitchers are tied for the 3rd highest home runs allowed.

 
 

T.J. Sikkema will be making his 2nd start of the season for the Staten Island Yankees. In his first outing on 6/29 against Vermont, he pitched 3.0 innings of no-hit ball in a no-decision. Staten Island is coming off a 4-2 loss on Friday.

Staten Island pitchers continue to dominate the stat lines in the NY-Penn League allowing the fewest runs, second fewest earned runs and tied for fewest home runs allowed.

 

RHP Leonardo Pestana (0-0, 8.00) vs. TBD

Leonardo Pestana makes his 3rd start for the Pulaski Yankees this season and his 1st against Burlington. In his previous outing on 6/30 against Danville, he went 4 2/3 innings allowing 4 earned runs on 4 hits in a no-decision. The Yankees are coming off a 7-6 loss on Friday.

So far this season, Pulaski pitchers have allowed the 2nd fewest hits in the Appalachian League and the fewest runs and earned runs. They also have the 2nd fewest walk total in the league.
