Previewing the 2018 New York Yankees

As players have already begun to report to the Himes Player Development and Scouting Complex in Tampa, Florida to ramp up their final leg of off-season workouts, we thought it would be a good idea to break down the 2018 New York Yankees with statistical analysis and bold predictions.

The Yankees had seemingly reclaimed their ‘Evil Empire’ nickname when they acquired the reigning National League Most Valuable Player, Giancarlo Stanton. The lovable, youthful team of 2017 that came up one victory shy of a World Series berth almost instantaneously turned into the hated Yankees teams of old with just one move.

Like it or not, the Yankees are back. Expectations are sky high for the big leaguers, and the farm system is flourishing with an excess of high-end young talent. Things are good in Yankeeland indeed.

As we begin our season preview, let’s take a brief look at a few numbers from the projected 25-man roster.

First, on the left side, you can find the 2017 numbers that I felt were the most important to be shown. Next, please view the Streamers projections on the right side for 2018 with the same exact statistical categories.

Now, take a minute or two to compare the data, thanks to FanGraphs, and collect your thoughts and opinions.

Ready for our breakdown? Let’s do it!
