The New York Yankees have signed a converted outfielder, turned shortstop Roberto Chirinos to a $900,000 deal on Sunday July 2, 2017.
It has been said that he has a plus arm, great instincts and quick hands. These are characteristics that allow evaluators to profile him as a future shortstop.
Some scouts even believe that his arm strength and athleticism might allow him to convert to a catcher someday.
At the plate, the Venezuelan native has good bat speed and makes hard contact, using the entire field.
Reportedly, Chirinos has good makeup and above-average speed.
