New York Yankees Vice President of Domestic Amateur Scouting, Damon Oppenheimer, selected left-handed pitcher Austin Crowson out of Lane Community College with the 782nd overall draft pick in the 26th round of the 2017 Draft.
Crowson is a towering southpaw with a decent fastball (88-92 range) and a devastating 12-to-six curveball.
Crowson spent the last two seasons at Lane where he posted a 2.31 ERA (mostly as a starter) with 122 strikeouts to only 47 walks in 117 innings pitched.
Crowson also features another off-speed pitch and is considered more of a finesse pitcher that gets hitters out with creativity and balance. He recently signed to pitch at Division I University of Nevada-Reno for next season.
