Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A): The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (41-28) defeated the Norfolk Tide, 7-6. They won the game in walk off fashion in the 10th inning.

Albert Abreu (Robert M. Pimpsner)

Trenton Thunder (Double-A): The Trenton Thunder (39-27) defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 4-2.

Tampa Tarpons (Class-A Advanced): The Tampa Tarpons (29-39) and the Dunedin Blue Jays game was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up on August 17.

Charleston RiverDogs (Class-A): The Charleston RiverDogs had a scheduled off day due to the South Atlantic League All-Star Break.

Staten Island Yankees (Short-Season A): The Staten Island Yankees (2-3) took both games of a doubleheader against the Connecticut Tigers.

Game One:

  • Jesus Bastidas: 1-for-3
  • Juan De Leon: 1-for-3, 2 runs scored, 1 home run, 1 RBI
    De Leon hit the first Staten Island home run of the season, a shot to left field that had a 111 MPH exit velocity.
  • Mitchell Robinson: 1-for-3, 1 RBI
  • Jerry Seitz: 1-for-2
    Seitz made an amazing catch to end the third inning behind the plate.
  • Evan Alexander: 1-for-1, 1 run scored, 1 walk
  • Blakely Brown: 5IP 2H 0R 0ER 2BB 6SO
    Threw 42/66 pitches for strikes (64%). This was Browns first professional start. He was 0-1 with a 3.18 ERA in six games out of the bullpen last season in the Gulf Coast League, throwing only 5.2 innings. 
  • Barrett Loseke: 1IP 2H 1R 1ER 0BB 0SO
    Loseke was the victim of two questionable balk calls.
  • Daniel Ramos: 1IP 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 1SO

Game Two:

  • Oswald Peraza: 1-for-4, 1 RBI
  • Isaiah Pasteur: 1-for-2, 2 runs scored, 1 double, 1 walk, 1 stolen base
  • Ricky Surum: 0-for-1, 2 runs scored, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base
  • Miguel Flames: 1-for-3
  • Alex Junior: 2-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 RBI
  • Wellington Diaz: 5IP 2H 0R 0ER 0BB 8SO
    Diaz struck out the final five batters he faced. He was in the mid-90s with his fastball.  Threw 51/62 pitches for strikes (82%).
  • Rodney Hutchison: 0.1IP 3H 4R 4ER 0BB 0SO
    Hutchison has hit a total of 11 batters between Charleston and Staten Island. That is the most in the Yankees organization.
  • Marcus Evey: 1.2IP 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 0SO
    Threw 9/12 pitches for strikes.

Pulaski Yankees (Rookie-Advanced): The Pulaski Yankees (1-1) split a doubleheader to open their 2019 season.

Dominican Summer League Yankees (Rookie): The DSL Yankees (7-7) defeated the DSL Nationals, 12-6).
