Pinstriped Performances: Tuesday, May 28, 2019



Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A): The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders and Rochester Red Wings game was postponed due to inclement weather.  Yankees shortstop Didi Gregorious was set to begin a rehab assignment with the team.

Trenton Thunder (Double-A): The Trenton Thunder (30-19) defeated the Altoona Curve, 6-5.

  • Wendell Rijo: 2-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 walk
  • Chris Gittens: 3-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 home run, 2 RBIs
  • Rashad Crawford: 2-for-4, 2 RBIs
    Crawford continues to have a great season under the radar of many. He made tweaks to his swing that is making a big difference on the field.
  • Matt Lipka: 2-for-4, 1 run scored
  • Kyle Holder: 1-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 walk.
    Holder struggled to start the season but is hitting .294 over his last 10 games with a home run, and two RBIs.
  • Rony Garcia: 3.2IP 5H 5R 5ER 2BB 4SO
  • Trevor Lane: 3.1IP 2H 0R 0ER 0BB 2SO
    Threw 30/38 pitches for strikes (79%). This was Lane’s longest outing of the season and his longest outing since April 10, 2017. He lowered his season ERA to 1.78.
  • Daniel Alvarez: 2IP 0H 0R 0ER 0BB 3SO
    Threw 15/19 pitches for strikes. Alvarez earned his seventh save of the season in his seventh multi-inning outing of the year.  He lowered his season ERA to 2.82.

Tampa Tarpons (Class-A Advanced): The Tampa Tarpons (21-29) lost to the Dunedin Blue Jays, 10-5.

Charleston RiverDogs (Class-A): The Charleston RiverDogs (28-24) were defeated by the Columbia Fireflies, 7-4.

  • Brandon Lockridge: 2-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 RBI
    Over his last 10 games, Lockridge has a .366 average with nine RBIs.
  • Frederick Cuevas: 1-for-2, 1 run scored, 1 double
  • Matt Pita: 1-for-4, 1 RBI
  • Eduardo Navas: 1-for-3, 1 RBI
  • Luis Gil: 5IP 5H 0R 0ER 0BB 6SO
    Threw 58/88 pitches for strikes (66%). This was Gil’s second game of the season where he did not allow a walk.
  • Alex Mauricio: 1.1IP 5H 7R 7ER 2BB 2SO
  • Carlos Espinal: 2.2IP 2H 0R 0ER 0BB 4SO
    Threw 28/34 pitches for strikes (82%). Espinal has only allowed two earned runs over eight games out of the bullpen for the RiverDogs. He has a 0.93 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 19 1/3 innings.
