Pinstriped Performances – Sunday, August 13th 2017

Check out the top performances across the New York Yankees organization in the latest edition of Pinstriped Performances:

New York Yankees (MLB):

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (Triple-A): The RailRiders won a tight game over Durham 4-2

  • Ji-Man Choi went 2-4 with four RBIs, he had a double and a home-run (14)
  • Nestor Cortes gave SWB 4 2/3 innings pitched giving up one unearned run and totaling eight strikeouts
  • Ben Heller took home the win, pitching two innings and recording five strikeouts in the six batters he faced

Trenton Thunder (Double-A): Trenton lost to the Altoona Curve 4-5, they remain nine games ahead of Binghamton in their division

  • Thairo Estrada went 3-4 bumping his average back up to .300 on the season
  • Zack Zehner went 1-4, his only hit being a grand-slam supplying Trenton’s four runs, it was his 10th home-run this season
  • Dan Camarena threw 5 2/3 innings giving up just two earned runs and striking out three batters

Tampa Yankees (Single-A Advanced): The Tampa Yankees completed a four-game sweep of the St. Lucie Mets giving up just one hit

Charleston RiverDogs (Single-A): The RiverDogs put nine runs and 14 hits on the Lexington Legends in their 9-2 win

  • Dermis Garcia went 2-5 with three RBIs as he hit two home-runs
  • Isiah Gilliam 1-4 with two RBIs, he hit his 28th double of the season with the bases loaded
  • Freicer Perez pitched five frames and gave up two earned runs, he totaled seven strikeouts

Staten Island Yankees (Single-A Short Season): Staten Island won their shoot-out over Mahoning Valley 10-7, they lead the New York-Penn league with a record of 33-19

  • Kyle Higashioka went 3-4 with four RBIs in his third rehab appearance, he hit his second home-run with Staten Island
  • Jorge Guzman pitched four innings, he struck out seven and gave up no runs

Pulaski Yankees (Rookie): Pulaski’s game with Bristol was suspended due to rain, they will resume at 6 pm on Monday
