MiLB Spring Training Notes – Tampa/Charleston: March 24, 2019


Deivi Garcia

  • Garcia struck out the side in the first inning.
  • Garcia’s breaking ball looks sharp. He threw all of his pitches for strikes.
  • Garcia struck out three hitters in the third.
  • Garcia struck out two hitters in the 4th on his curveball looking.
  • Garcia made a nice move, picking off a runner at first.
  • Garcia’s final line: 5 IP, 9 K, 1 H, 1 BB, 1 ER

Janson Junk

  • Junk came in in the 6th, walked the first hitter and struck out two in the inning.
  • Junk hit with a comebacker on the ankle and was pulled from the game

Tanner Myatt

  • Myatt looks good in the first, two easy outs to start the inning.
  • Myatt walked Max Burt with two outs in the 1st.
  • Myatt struck out two hitters in the 3rd.
  • Myatt struck out two hitters in the 4th.

Yoendrys Gomez

  • Gomez looks impressive, good movement on pitches.


  • Andres Chaparro laced one to left that died on the warning track.
  • Everson Pereira made a nice sliding catch in center field.
  • Raimfer Salinas is the first base runner for Charleston in the 3rd after a walk.
  • Salinas stole second base on a good jump.
  • Brayan Emery with a diving catch in right field to end the 4th.
  • Oswald Peraza made a nice spinning play at shortstop to get the first out of the 5th.
  • Eduardo Torrealba roped a double down the left field line for the first hit off Garcia.
  • Max Burt misplayed a ball that took a bad hop at third.
  • Passed ball for Donny Sands results in Garcia’s first run of the day.
  • Nelson Gomez with a base hit between 3rd and short to start the 5th.
  • Brandon Lockridge with a double down the 3rd baseline.
  • Nelson Gomez roped a double down the left field line, ended up at 3rd on an error by the left field
