GCL Yankees East Win Second Consecutive Game – Pinstriped Prospects

GCL Yankees East Win Second Consecutive Game

The Gulf Coast League Yankees East team might have only had 3 hits in the entire game, but that is all they needed to come out victorious over the GCL Braves for their second consecutive victory to open the season.

Those three hits came off the bats of Brandon Wagner, Jordan Scott and Pedro Urena.  Scott, 19, was the Yankees 14th round pick out of IMG Academy this year and his hit today was his first professional base hit he also lead the Yankees with 3 RBIs in the game.

Getting the victory in the game was Allen Valerio who moved to the mound this season after spending 4 years as an infielder in the organization.  Chad Taylor started the game to start his rehab back and he threw a perfect inning with 1 strikeout.

The GCL Yankees West game was suspended after 6 innings with the GCL Phillies up 3-2.
