Andujar reported to camp about a month ago and has bas been working with Yankee infield coach Carlos Mendoza on his fielding.

So far so good. Two spring games, two wins, ten pitchers used, eight allowing no runs, and two just one run each. A lot of youngsters and older minor league extras getting most of the playing time so far.

Third win in a row for Yankees this spring. In downer was Justus Sheffield getting hammered for three runs in and inning and two thirds allowing three runs. Sheffield gave up more runs in his outing today than all of the Yankee pitchers combined in three games.

Good news bad news game today. Eight Yankee pitchers allowed 8 runs, 7 by secondary youngsters. The young blooming and growing young hitters scored 9 runs for a 9-8 fifth straight win for the team. Many youngsters contributed accounting for the Yankee runs with the big hits from and Andujar home run, a triple from Florial. and a 3 rbi double from Payton.

Crazy spring training game that ends Yankee win streak at five. Yanks go down 9-6.

Winning is great but i’m more interested in the personal performances especially with the pitching. JMO

I don’t mind personal performance during spring training or to a degree in the lower minors, but when you get to the big leagues wins and winning are why the games are played and the team wins games by the contribution of all players offensively and defensively, pitching and hitting, to win those games. No one or two players individual performance gets a team to the playoffs. Only wins gets a team to the playoffs.

After today’s game Yankees will be 8-2 this spring. Every player in camp is seeing action and several players are making a positive statement for themselves. Then again there a few players making a negative statement.

It looks like Cessa has pitched himself into a hole today. He really looked bad going an inning and a third.

With the signing of Walkier it appears that both Torres and Andujar will start the season in Scranton. That will take care of both players service time and give the Yankees an extra year of control over both. Both will be on the Yankees some time this season and both will be more seasoned playing everyday in Scranton.
