The Yankees appear to have had a strong 2017 draft with their early picks [Matt Sauer (#8 PP, #12 MLB), Clarke Schmidt (#14 PP, #13 MLB), Trevor Stephan (#23 PP, #15 MLB), Glenn Otto (#33 PP, #20 MLB) and Canaan Smith (#36 PP, #28 MLB)] showing strongly in a deep system.

Has anyone else starting reading the top 50 draft profiles from MLB?

The Yankees pick 23rd and I’ve been envisioning someone like Jeremy Eierman falling to them.

The Yankees do love tall pitchers. I still have some Brackman flashbacks.

I tend to look at the top of the draft and dream about guys dropping but he would be in their general demographic (along with University of South Carolina pitchers and SoCal prep players).

The downward delivery is tough on hitters but can they repeat their delivery is always the issue.

Getting batters out and winning consistently is the biggest issue, whether the pitcher is 5 foot 8 or 6 foot 11.
