Sheffield’s stock has drastically risen over the past year, some have even ranked him as high as New York’s second minor league prospect behind Gleyber Torres. The southpaw was acquired by the Yankees from the Cleveland Indians back in 2016 as apart of the Andrew Miller trade deadline package. Justus has been invited to Major League camp this spring as a Non-Roster Invitee.

The Tullahoma, Tennessee native seems like a longshot to make his big league debut this year because he has only made 18 starts in Double-A, but don’t sleep on the 21-year old. Justus had an incredible showing in the 2017 Arizona Fall League. If he keeps pitching on the upward trajectory that he’s on, ‘Sheff’ could do it and make it to the Bronx by season’s end.
