Gleyber Torres, one of the New York Yankees top prospects, was named Arizona Fall League Player of the Week.
Torres, 19, is also one of the youngest. He was acquired back in July in a trade with the Chicago Cubs that sent Aroldis Chapman to the now National League Champion Cubs.
In his first six games of the AFL he hit .429 and lead the league in slugging and OPS. Earlier today he was held hitless in 2 at-bats, lowering his batting average to .391. He has hit 2 home runs so far, after hitting just 2 in 31 games with the Tampa Yankees.
Overall this past season Torres hit .270 in 125 games between the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and the Tampa Yankees.
