Winter League Report: Tyler Austin Doubles in Winter League Debut

Yankees prospect Tyler Austin hit a double after a 10-pitch at-bat in the first inning for Leones del Escogido last night.  The two-base hit was the only time he reached base as he grounded out and struck out twice in the game.

Catcher, Wilkin Castillo went 2-for-4 in the game to bring his season average to .667.

Anyelo Gomez pitched 1/3 of an inning for Gigantes del Cibao.  While Mike Ford was 0-for3 with a walk and a run scored for Estrellas Orientales.

In the Arizona Fall League, Estevan Florial went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk and a run scored.  Thairo Estrada also went 1-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and a run scored.  Billy McKinney went 0-for-3 while playing first base.  He walked and had an RBI.  Cody Carroll struck out two batters and earned three saves in an inning of work.

In Venezuela, Daniel Alvarez took the loss for Cardenales de Lara after allowing an unearned run on a hit in 2/3 of an inning of work.  Alexander Palma went 0-for-4 for Leones del Caracas.
