Winter League Report: Florial, Holder Lead Scorpions to Victory

Yankees Prospects went a combined 10-for-20 with 6 runs scored as the Scottsdale Scorpions defeated the Peoria Javelinas 13-7 on Thursday night in Arizona.

Kyle Holder went 4-for-6 with 2 runs scored, a triple, home run and 3 RBIs in the contest while playing third base.  Estevan Florial was in right field and went 3-for-5 with 2 runs scored, a double, triple and 2 RBIs.  Both players were one-hit away from hitting for a cycle.  Holder needed just a double and Florial, a home run.

Florial’s big game means he is now hitting .435 in the Fall League, while Kyle Holder is now hitting .471.

Shortstop Thairo Estrada went 2-for-5 in the game with 2 runs scored, while Billy McKinney had a RBI and a 1-for-4 game.

In the Venezuelan Winter League, Luis Cedeno walked a batter in 1/3 of an inning of work.
