RiverDogs Take On Columbia In Game Two of Four Game Set

The Charleston RiverDogs look to keep up their good play since the All-Star break in their second game of a four game series against the Columbia Fireflies. Freicer Perez (4-3, 3.03 ERA) takes the mound for Charleston while Blake Taylor (1-7, 3.65 ERA) starts for Columbia.

The RiverDogs are 10-5 in the second half which ties them for first place in the Southern Division with Lexington who hold the same record. Asheville is in third place, a game and a half behind the Dogs and Legends with a 9-7 record.

Perez has been on fire in his last eight starts. He’s pitched to a 1.65 ERA in 49 and one-third innings allowing just nine earned runs in that stretch.

Brandon Wagner is coming off a 3-for-4 performance with three doubles and three RBI. That raises his batting average on the season to .293 and with runners on base, he’s hitting .406 with a .500 on base percentage.
